Regional distributor FVC has signed a deal with US network service provider Masergy to sell its solutions in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), the company said on Sunday.

FVC said it will offer Masergy's internet protocol (IP) network solutions for video conferencing products, with it plans to launch in the UAE and then expand across the rest of MENA.

FVC said it is waiting for approval to offer the solutions from the UAE Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA).

"With video conferencing solutions showing an upswing in the region, local IP networks need to be enhanced to ensure that it can handle the level of traffic it generates. The partnership with Masergy will do just that," Bruce Withington, executive director at FVC, said in a statement.

John Dumbleton, senior vice president at Masergy, added: "Demand for telepresence and high-definition video is growing, and we are excited to be part of a team that can help businesses take full advantage of these communication technologies."
