D-Link Middle East is turning its guns on the SMB and telecom segment this year, and is using its stand at GITEX Technology Week to get the message through to a larger audience.

"We are not really launching any products but we are displaying a variety of our existing solutions, intended for the SMB and telecom markets, at our stand.

Customers can witness live demos, can touch-and-feel these solutions and understand how they work in real life," says Sakkeer Hussain, regional channel manager Gulf at D-Link Middle East.

Products on display at the stand include switches, storage solutions, IP cameras, selections from the 802.11n wireless range, 3G routers and WiMAX products.

The company, which has been part of the IT show from 1998, sees in GITEX a great opportunity to meet resellers and customers, as well as to understand the prevailing trends in the region.

"As a vendor, GITEX gives us a great chance to reach our customers directly, and to let them know that we have a new product or technology. So really this is a fantastic opportunity for us to display our products to the entire market," says Hussain.

"We will be meeting potential partners to handle our SMB and telecom solutions. GITEX is a great meeting point and we look forward to getting to know new partners. Our door is always open for them," he adds.

The company, which has already established itself in the retail segment, is building its internal staff and coaching partners, to effectively deliver on its new focus area.

According to Hussain, D-Link ME has already brought in around six people in the technical and pre-sales departments, and this is only set to increase as the company's revenues from the SMB and telecom segments increase.
