Enterprise Ireland is showcasing the best IT talent Ireland has to offer at this year's GITEX Technology Week.

The Emerald Isle has emerged as an ICT powerhouse over the past decade, eclipsing many other long-standing European rivals in the process.

Enterprise Ireland, the federal government agency responsible for the development and promotion of the country's booming high-tech export sector, is hosting six leading Irish IT specialists at the show.

"These companies include telecoms specialists, e-government and banking software providers. Each company is promoting its products and services on the Enterprise Ireland stand," says Nasser Zahran, senior market adviser, MENA for Enterprise Ireland.

Enterprise Ireland is also promoting its own services at the event. The company specialises in sourcing Irish technology suppliers on behalf of ICT companies based in the Middle East.

"We aim to showcase Ireland's capabilities and expertise in the ICT sector at GITEX and support Irish technology suppliers in attracting new business in the Middle East," says Zahran.

"The region's booming ICT sector is of primary importance to our organisation.

"Many Irish ICT companies have established operations to better service the Middle East technology market.

"The outlook for 2008 is very positive commercially."
