Orange Business Services, a division of France Telecom, has launched a white paper outlining its vision for the ‘smart city' of the future.
According to the company, smart cities represent the future for the Gulf, as it moves away from reliance on petrodollars and develops diversified economies.
In the Orange Business Services' ‘Business Brief', the company looks at what it takes to build a Smart City and how it can differentiate real estate developments.
Lionel Reina, VP, Orange Business Services, says: "Change is gathering pace in the telecoms industry now and this is recognised by the ‘smart city' developers, who are looking for new services based on IP technology to create differentiation for their projects.
With an estimated US $2 trillion of real estate developments in progress in the Gulf, the stakes for developers are very high. We are already working with some of the region's major developers on projects across the Gulf."
