Genius Computer Technology (GCT) is looking to build on its strong market position as GITEX Technology Week gets under way today.

The peripherals distributor is expected to achieve 40% growth this financial year and GCT hopes a strong performance at the show will go some way to helping it achieve this goal.

"We consider GITEX Technology Week as the perfect platform to launch our products and services in this rapidly paced market. We are the trendsetters in our industry in this region and we know the exact requirements of our channel partners and end users and because of this advantage it is quite easy and comfortable for us to position our products in this highly competitive market," says Milad Jabbour, president and CEO of GCT.

As well as a prominent product launch platform, Jabbour says the show also offers a valuable opportunity to develop strategies with its distributors and re-sellers for the coming 12 months.

"We provide consultations for our channel partners by carefully analysing their markets, understanding the market needs and then provide recommendations for the coming months in terms of product marketing, pricing, finance and logistics.

"We display our entire product line-up during GITEX and provide hands-on demos for our channel community and the end users and explain to them about the technology, features, specs and various applications," adds Jabbour.

GCT draws most of its revenue from the region and Jabbour believes that it is still growing in terms of opportunities for the IT industry. "The real potential of this region is yet to be revealed.

Increases in IT users, Government initiatives to popularise IT, the rapid advancement of technology, changes in youth spending patterns and a growing understanding about new technology are some of the major factors for the increase in opportunities," claims Jabbour.

The company will be showcasing a range of products addressing the growing notebook market as well as wireless connectivity products, LCD displays, IP cameras, headsets, speakers from a selection of manufacturers.
