Registrations for the third mobile licence auction in Bahrain have now closed, with four companies formally pledging their interest.

“Given the economic climate, we are pleased at the level of interest in the 3rd mobile licence. Indications are that registered bidders will bring a combination of international and local expertise,” Alan Horner, TRA's general director.

In the interest of transparency, the TRA has put rules in place to protect the confidential information of the bidders and avoid any unfair practices.

Registered companies will submit their financial bids on November 13, with the names of those that qualify to be announced on November 18.

The TRA aims to announce the winner of the mobile licence auction by early December.
