Google will make its first ever appearance at GITEX this year, as part of the DIC stand.

The internet search giant, which established offices in the UAE earlier this year, will be exhibiting on the DIC stand in concourse two. Google said that the show would be an opportunity to network with other regional players.

“We are very excited to be participating at our first Gitex conference this year,” said Husni Khuffash, Country Business Development Manager, UAE, Google. “Our participation showcases our efforts to continue engaging with our business partners and customers in the Middle East.”

After its founding as a search engine company, Google has branched out into many different areas, including online productivity, email, knowledge databases, mapping, blogs, web browsers and phone operating systems. It has also produced Arabic versions of many of its most popular solutions, including Gmail and Google Knols.

Malek Sultan Al Malek, executive director of Dubai Internet City said: “Google is a global technology leader, offering information by the second to millions of people around the world. As a business partner, we look forward to establish more meaningful partnerships and work towards finding innovative ways to augment the region's IT industry.”
