Mitel Networks will showcase its new Sun Ray unified IP client solution at GITEX Technology Week. The solution allows users to securely 'hot desk' into Mitel IP phones and Sun Ray thin client terminals, through the use of a personal Java card.

The technology has been designed to provide voice and data services at any workstation on the network, dramatically reducing desktop cost.

In keeping with its promotion of IP solutions and technology Mitel will also demonstrate IP telephony platforms, IP desktop devices, contact centres and video collaboration solutions.

"Clients in the Middle East are no longer asking what IP is, but rather how they can exploit it," says Hisham Amili, general manager, Mitel Networks GCC.

"GITEX remains Mitel's favourite regional event and our consistent and repeated participation in the exhibition is a reflection of our commitment to the region."

Amili says Mitel delivers flexible IP-based unified communications solutions and applications for organisations of all sizes across all sectors and verticals.

"Traditionally speaking, the Middle East has always been a diverse market with one or two core-markets showing growth at any one time," says Amili.

"GITEX is a great opportunity to touch base with key players in the market and show them the value we can add to their enterprises."
