In 2005, Cert InfoTrack Telematics signed the industry's biggest ever telematics deal with IBM.

The company now says that it's time to promote the fact that there is a regional player in the industry that is able to step onto the global stage.

"We want to generate awareness of the fact that there is a global telematics technology provider headquartered in the UAE," asserts Saif Mohamed, marketing manager at Cert InfoTrack Telematics, which is a subsidiary of the Cert group of companies.

The CERT group - which was launched as the commercial arm of the Higher Colleges of Technologies in the UAE - also specialises in training and education for IT and business professionals.

CERT also lays claim to being the single largest investor in the development and commercialisation of technology in the EMEA region, having invested US$35 million in 2006 alone.

Cert InfoTrack Telematics provides solutions for companies with fleets of vehicles such as web-based fleet management systems, dispatch systems, and Falcon which provide geofencing, asset tracking, driver identification and driver monitoring, among other functions.

As an Abu Dhabi-based company the Middle East region is of great importance to the firm, alongside the Asia Pacific region and Indian subcontinent and it hopes that this year's GITEX will help it reach clients based in each territory.

"GITEX Technology Week is a hugely important event for us every year," declares Mohamed. "It has always provided us with the right opportunities and an excellent medium to showcase our offerings."
