Scott McNealy to present GITEX keynote

Sun Microsystems chief to give opening keynote speech for Gitex conference

Sun Microsystems boss Scott McNealy will open this year’s GITEX Technology Week Conference, the DWTC has announced.

McNealy, chairman and co-founder of Sun will present the keynote speech on open source and its role in social and economic growth on 19th October.

The GITEX conference, which runs in parallel with the exhibition, will include 35 sessions on a range of IT issues, including dedicated tracks for communications and consumer electronics, a half-day track for developers covering Microsoft, Oracle, Linux and Java, and sponsored full days from Microsoft and Etisalat.

The second keynote on 19th October, will be given by Pim Dale, vice president and general manager, Dell Emerging Markets, Europe, Middle East and Africa, who will discuss unlocking the potential for businesses, government and citizens.
