ICT cluster Dubai Internet City (DIC) will be on hand at GITEX Technology Week to showcase its services for multinational IT firms and SMEs alike.

This year's GITEX marks the ninth consecutive year DIC has boasted a presence at the event.

"The show provides us and our business partners with an excellent networking platform to interact, share and exchange ideas and information with members of the industry," says Malek Sultan Al Malek, executive director of DIC. "At the same time, DIC will also have the opportunity to showcase its presence and service value propositions to multinational companies looking to invest in the Middle East."

DIC claims to be the leading managed ICT cluster in the Middle East, with resident partners including Google, Intel and Dell. However, as Al Malek notes, the freezone also accomodates a large number of smaller operators.

"We will showcase our ‘First Steps at DIC' at GITEX, which is a suite of service offerings for companies looking to set up operations in the Middle East," reveals Al Malek.

DIC, a member of TECOM Investments, will also be looking to build on the contribution it has already made to the region's IT industry by continuing to promote some of its core service offerings such as 100 percent tax exemption and 100 percent free ownership.

"As the leading managed ICT cluster in the region, DIC plays an integral role in developing the region's IT industry and its presence at GITEX will further reinforce this position," Al Malek says.

"Attracting thousands of companies from all over the world, particularly in our desired country markets, the event will bring about the strong presence and brand visibility to our target audience."
