Taiwan-based networking specialist EDIMAX is targeting small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and the small office/home office (SOHO) space with its range of wireless networking products.

The equipment and solution provider is set to unveil the latest products in its ‘Networking Home' integrated solutions, with a focus on Wi-Fi 802.11n technology.

The new wireless standard uses multiple input/multiple output (MIMO) technology to deliver a significant improvement on current Wi-Fi standards, 802.11b and 802.11g, with a faster potential data rate of about 250 Mbit/s.

EDIMAX's product range covers everything from basic devices such as routers, modems, switches, WLAN adapters, to products like NAS, NAC, print servers and projector servers with special applications. In exhibiting at GITEX, the company hopes to reach out to regional buyers, distributors and resellers in the Middle East and Africa (MEA).

"The Middle East is somewhat new to us, but we are on concentrating more and more on developing regions and that is why we set up a base in Dubai for the MEA market," says Yuhan Wang, managing director.
