With the UAE and the wider Middle East increasingly attracting international business, demand for 'telepresence' communication technology is likely to rise significantly in the coming years.

Tandberg, a global supplier of telepresence, high-definition videoconferencing and mobile video products, is keen to put the spotlight on its latest innovations at GULFCOMMS. "As decisions become more complex, they often involve input from a larger number of experts and data points," says Geir Olsen, president, EMEA, Tandberg.

Many of Tandberg's products are targeted at firms operating in specialist industries such as oil and gas, where teams working remotely may need to use advanced video conferencing technology to collaborate on specific projects. Tandberg recently announced a new high-definition video solution in collaboration with Barco, a company specialising in display and visualisation technology.

The 1080p high-definition (HD) video with large screen format, enables organisations to collaborate visually and analyse complex sources of data in realtime.

Operations that scrutinise large amounts of data could benefit from the integration of Barco's multi-windowing systems with Tandberg's HD video solutions.

"Together with Barco, Tandberg is simplifying tele-collaboration for industries that rely on co-operation between multiple facilities to share and review complicated data," says Olsen.

"This collaboration-without-borders facilitates the ability to make smarter decisions faster."
