Smile Computers, a Dubai-based IT distribution company, hopes this year’s GITEX Technology Week will give it the platform to expand to new heights.

The company, which carries brands including A-Data, HP, Symantec, Microsoft, Toshiba and Transcend, enjoyed turnover of over AED 65 million for the year ended June 30th. With the help of GITEX, it expects to breach the AED90-100 million mark by next year.

"GITEX is very important to our success in the Middle East, as was evident in last year's results," says Dharmendra L Sawlani, founder and CEO. "We were very happy with the response we got from GITEX 2007 and are hopeful of better response this time."

This year, Smile Computers will promote a range of products at GITEX, including A-Data USB flash drives, HP LCD monitors and USB flash drives, Toshiba storage solutions and Transcend external hard drives. Smile Computers imports products from Europe and Asia and has relationships with over 450 resellers in MEA. The company's client base includes PC assemblers, retailers, wholesalers and exporters in the UAE and outside.
