Fujitsu Siemens is bringing its first netbook offering, the Amilo Mini Ui 3520, to the region.

Available from the start of October, The Amilo Mini is a compact 32.2 X 17.5 cm, and weighs just 1kg, with an 8.9 inch, anti-glare screen.

Unsurprisingly for a netbook, it’s powered by an Intel Atom N270 processor, and runs Windows XP Home.

For connectivity, the Amilo Mini comes with express card slot for WLAN and UMTS, 4-in-1 card reader, 3G USB dongle support and Bluetooth. It also pack an integral webcam and microphone, and has a reported battery life of four hours.

The netbook is available with either a 60GB or 80GB HDD, with a 120GB version available later in the year.

Tarek Al Kaissy, manager, Consumer Products ME, Fujitsu Siemens Computers said: “Continuing its commitment to providing superior mobility for regional consumers, Fujitsu Siemens Computers is proud of this latest miniature notebook that is perfectly suited to the mobile lifestyle of modern business professionals in the region.

“Not only does the size allow for easy travelling, but it accomplishes superior mobility without sacrificing other features like an integrated microphone and 1.3 megapixel webcam which mean that the office can travel with you wherever you need to go this fall,” he added.

The Amilo Mini will have a retail price of AED 2,399 ($653).
