Enterprise Ireland will showcase the best IT talent Ireland has to offer at this year’s GITEX Technology Week.

The Emerald Isle has emerged as an ICT powerhouse over the past decade, eclipsing many other long-standing European rivals in the process.

At this year’s show, Enterprise Ireland, the government agency responsible for the development and promotion of the indigenous business sector in the country, will host six leading Irish IT firms.

“These companies include telecoms specialists, e-government and banking software providers. Each of the six ICT companies will be promoting their products and services on the Enterprise Ireland stand,” says Nasser Zahran, senior market adviser, MENA for Enterprise Ireland.

Enterprise Ireland will also be promoting its own services at the event. The company specialises in sourcing Irish technology suppliers on behalf of ICT companies based in the Middle East.

“We plan to showcase Ireland’s capabilities and expertise in the ICT sector at GITEX and support Irish suppliers in attracting new business in the Middle East,” says Zahran.

Zahran says Enterprise Ireland considers its involvement at GITEX to be of fundamental importance in securing new business for its partners and clients.

“The ICT sector is of primary importance to our organisation in the Middle East and we work with many world-class Irish technology companies who operate within this sector to help them grow their business in the region,” he adds.

Enterprise Ireland has its permanent regional headquarters in Dubai. It also operates a second office in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

“Many Irish ICT companies have established operations to better service the Middle East technology market,” says Zahran.

“The outlook for 2008 is very positive commercially. The Middle East market of core importance to our organisation and our partners.”
