Telecommunications service provider Comium Group Holding has been granted nine licenses to provide WiMAX services across East and West Africa, including Zambia, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ivory Coast and Burundi.

Lebanese-based Comium has been expanding its operations in Africa after acquiring mobile licenses to operate in key African markets.

“The services we offer our customers are part of the foundation for a brighter economic future and better standard of living in Africa and developing nations elsewhere,” said Dr. Nizar Dalloul, Comium Group chairman.

“We are pleased to see what Comium Data has accomplished so far,” added Dalloul. “With our wide range of fixed and wireless data services we have succeeded in bringing people closer through connectivity, allowing them to better do business and communicate.”
