Juniper Networks is expanding its network and security management capabilities across routing, switching and security infrastructure with the launch of the Network and Security Manager (NSM).

NSM offers centralised management for Juniper Networks J-series services routers, EX-series Ethernet switches, secure access SSL VPN and firewall/VPN and intrusion detection and prevention appliances as well as its newly launched unified access control (UAC) solution.

"Juniper is committed to delivering fast, reliable and secure high-performance network and security solutions that provide operational efficiency so that customers can concentrate on their business objectives instead of their network," said Taj El-Khayat, head of enterprise channel group, MEA, Juniper Networks.

According to the company, the advantages of NSM include consistent monitoring across Juniper network and security products, implementation of policy changes network-wide to mitigate threats, policy versioning with rollback capabilities as well as efficient network-wide control with centralised management XML schema-based management architecture for extensibility.

Coming hot on the heels of NSM is Juniper's rollout of its Unified Access Control (UAC) 2.2 software and the Juniper Networks Infranet Controller 4500 (IC 4500) and Infranet Controller 6500 (IC 6500) hardened, centralised policy management servers.

The access control solution is able to provide the centralised access policy management function via the NSM. This enables businesses to simplify rollout, deployment and provisioning of secure network access while attaining comprehensive network visibility.

According to the company, the UAC 2.2, with the IC 4500 and IC 6500 policy engines, extends access control deeper into existing network and security infrastructure, providing an extensive set of endpoint security checks and features.

"Granular network and application access demand a fast, reliable and secure access control solution that offers best-in-class performance and scalability, along with easy administration, provisioning and management, UAC does just that," concluded El-Khayat.
