Oracle and Fujitsu Siemens Computers (FSC) are providing independent software vendors (ISVs) with resources for testing their applications on the Flexframe for Oracle platform. The firms have introduced a joint centre where ISVs can test and validate their solutions against the platform. FlexFrame for Oracle provides a hardware infrastructure for running Oracle’s software, including Fusion Middleware, Oracle Database 10g, Oracle Real Application Clusters and Oracle Grid Computing. The Flex- frame solution combines hardware, storage products and infrastructure software to provide a virtualised environment. To encourage the development of applications to run on Flexframe for Oracle, the two firms said that the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region’s ISVs could now use a testing centre in Istanbul to validate their solutions, using the latest hardware and software from them. In addition, the firms said, the centre would be staffed with experts from Oracle and FSC who are specifically trained to help test and tune solutions on the Flexframe for Oracle infrastructure. Workshops, which can be tailored to satisfy an ISVs’ individual interests and requirements, are also available; these deliver information on Oracle 10g, provide assistance in testing, and give recommendations for the migration. “The use of the services in this centre is free. ISVs can save a considerable amount of time and money on their migration and validation projects and their rate of success should increase significantly,” said Hisham Esaadi, director of Channel Sales and Alliances at Oracle MEA. in the Oracle ISV Migration Centre has intensified our close cooperation with Oracle to the benefit of our partners,” commented Habib Bouchrara, vice president FSC MEA & Turkey. “Our Flexframe for Oracle solution delivers ISVs a powerful and scalable infrastructure they can use to test their solutions efficiently,” he explained.
