Etisalat has completed the installation of a new High Availability Service from business continuity specialists Neverfail, providing its Blackberry Enterprise Server customers with improved availability.

The NeverFail service is designed to continuously monitor an organisation's e-mail and data transfer environment while replicating information onto secondary servers. In the event of an outage, Neverfail will either restart applications before they fail, automatically switch to a secondary server or alert IT personnel to prevent a loss of service. After the event is resolved, users are switched back to the main servers without administrative involvement.

"For our enterprise customers, maintaining continuous availability of email access is a critical requirement. With this new service, Etisalat now offers our customers a powerful and robust solution to protect critical parts of our customers' IT infrastructure. We selected Neverfail as our preferred provider behind our high availability and disaster recovery services for mobile email systems on the basis of its enviable reputation for protecting mission-critical systems," said Abdulla Hashim, VP of enterprise solutions at Etisalat.

"We are pleased that Etisalat has selected to work with us to offer high availability protection for mobile access to email and information on BlackBerry smartphones," said Basem Al Kayyali, regional director for Neverfail in the Middle East.
