UTM specialist Cyberoam has launched a certification programme aimed at ensuring channel partners carry the professional skills to meet the identity security needs of their customers.

The Cyberoam Security Certification, which features two levels of varying difficulty, provides candidates with an in-depth understanding of networking and security concepts in addition to training for expertise in the deployment of the vendor's UTM series.

"The certification adds significant value to the trainee's career path," said Harish Chib, VP for new business development at Cyberoam. "With enterprises increasingly adopting identity-based security, the certification provides confirmation of the knowledge and understanding gained by the trainee in the future direction that network security is taking."

VARs that want to put their staff through the paces can expect technicians to return with a comprehensive understanding of security installation, configuration and support. Cyberoam says exam-takers must score a minimum 80% mark to pass.
