Nokia has launched a new product, which it claims will enable companies to build GSM/Edge networks more easily. The Nokia Flexi Edge Base Station has a significant impact on GSM/ Edge network coverage and capacity, as well as making base station siting easier and faster, the company claimed. Using the solution, operators gain savings in site deployment, operations and in reduced number of sites resulting in lower network total cost of ownership, according to Nokia. “The new Nokia Flexi Edge Base Station is designed to further enhance operator revenue and to deliver superb operational efficiencies and capabilities,” said Ari Lehtoranta, senior vice president, Radio Networks, Nokia.
