Cedarcom rolls out Mobi service

Lebanese telco provider Cedarcom has deployed its ‘Mobi’ mobile broadband wireless access network in Lebanon and the Middle East using technology from Japanese firm Kyocera.

Lebanese telco provider Cedarcom has deployed its ‘Mobi’ mobile broadband wireless access network in Lebanon and the Middle East using technology from Japanese firm Kyocera. The service will be available, initially, in greater Beirut, Jounieh, with extension to other parts of Lebanon, namely Tripoli, Faqra and Faraya, expected to follow. Cedarcom also claimed it had rights to use the technology in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the UAE. It is rolling out the Mobi service in partnership with internet service providers (ISPs) Cyberia IDM and Sodetel among others.
