Adobe has launched the latest version of its web conferencing and elearning solution Adobe Acrobat Connect Pro.

The Flash Player-based solution includes a range of functions to manage online meetings or classrooms that can then be accessed using a web browser.

The new version of Connect Pro includes new features for online meeting, including archiving and editing of recorded meetings; presence capabilities allowing integration with instant messaging (IM) clients; and powerful compliance and usage reporting tools. For elearning, the solution now includes break-out rooms for separate conversations during meetings, rapid video-based content authoring; and tools to track and organise online classes.

Andrew Lindstrom, regional manager for Adobe in Middle East and Africa and the Mediterranean said: "Organisations and educational institutions alike are challenged with reaching highly distributed workforces or student populations, as well as communicating, collaborating, and transferring knowledge at the accelerated pace of today's demands," said Andrew Lindstrom, regional manager for Adobe in Middle East and Africa and the Mediterranean.

"Whether it's meeting with co-workers across departments, or conducting virtual classes across continents, Acrobat Connect Pro can help break through technology barriers by letting virtually anyone participate in effective online communication and knowledge transfer," he added.
