Aptec claims it will launch the first HP demo centre to be run by a distribution partner in the region, after establishing a dedicated HP value-added division focused on the vendor's high-end servers and storage solutions.

The Dubai-based wholesaler's new value team will include certified HP pre-sales consultants that support customers by studying infrastructures and offering solutions encompassing third-party vendors. Certified consultants will also focus on HP integrity servers and HP storage solutions for multiple vertical sectors.

Carlos Tannous, business unit manager for HP enterprise storage and servers at Aptec, says the division will provide customers with bespoke solutions tailored to their enterprise needs.

"The division will offer pre-sales and sales consultancy alongside the dedicated demo data centre inside our office," he explained.

Aptec intends to use the competence centre to showcase the latest technologies for HP servers, storage and software, and plans to introduce a similar facility in Saudi Arabia within the next three months

"We have the expertise in the market to understand our partners' and their customers' needs and ensure that we provide them with all the tools for their success," claimed Aptec boss Bahaa Salah.

HP's new regional SPO chief Bernhard Isemann believes the joint initiative will provide resellers with a strong platform to demonstrate HP storage and servers solutions to end-users.

"The centre will also help independent software vendors to test their application on HP hardware," Isemann said.
