OCZ Technology has unveiled what it claims is the ‘world’s fastest’ 4Gbyte DDR2 memory kit.

The two new 4Gbyte DDR2-1150 units – aimed at regional PC enthusiasts - are part of the OCZ’s Flex II memory series, and come with the mandatory Flex cooling system the series is known for. The system can use passive cooling, or become part of a pre-installed water cooling unit with ease, according to the firm.

Dr. Michael Schuette, VP of Technology Development at OCZ stated, “One of the side effects of extreme memory speeds is an increase in performance robbing heat, and the new Flex II modules are among the most powerful memory solutions in the market place yet are able to remain cool and stable with an innovative new cooling design.”

Schuette went on to say, “The thermal power is addressed using what we believe is the most advanced memory cooling solution currently available, suited for either liquid or air cooling system configuration to unleash the full power of 4 GB of DDR2 at the highest possible frequency.”

Pricing and availability of the firm’s new Flex II additions are yet to be announced.
