Mobile application developer opens sister company in Saudi to cater to growing demand from phone users

Mobile application developer is expanding its reach into Saudi Arabia, with the launch of a new sister company to target the Kingdom.

The new company, Rawafed will aim to triple's customer base in Saudi Arabia, taking the combined subscriber numbers to 750,000. The company will offer subscribers a range of mobile applications including games, ring tones, and advanced messaging services.

Bashar Dahabra, founder and CEO of, said: "The formation of the new company is extremely significant to our broader plan in the Saudi Arabian market, which is witnessing substantial growth in the mobile and telecommunication sectors. Our majority stake in Rawafed will ideally position us to capitalize on the market opportunities in Saudi, as we plan to extend our subscriber base in the country from 250,000 to 750,000 in the next few years."

"Moreover, this move will enable us to introduce more innovative services in the Saudi market, which is seeing a steady increase in demand for mobile application services, especially from the younger segment of the population," he added.

Rawafed is 51% owned by and 49% held by a private investor.
