HP Middle East has appointed a new country manager for its Personal Systems Group (PSG) in Saudi Arabia, as it looks to cement its status as the leader in the Kingdom's PC market.

In his new role, Khaled Hejazi - an HP employee since 2000 and regional distribution manager for just over three years - has been tasked with delivering a high quality of service and communication to HP's partners and customers in the Kingdom.

"With Khaled's appointment and increasing focus on our partner network, we expect the region to be one of our fastest growing country organisations in EMEA," said Sedar Urcar, general manager at PSG Middle East.

From his experience in the region, Hejazi says the market in KSA is a strategic inflection point that is key to the development of the IT industry in the Middle East. "Customers and partners are looking for vendors with deep industry expertise, in-depth technology understanding and end-to-end, standards-based services," Hejazi said. "Today, HP PSG is well positioned to capture this opportunity and my goal is to take us to the next level of growth."

This appointment is the latest in a series of moves by HP to bolster its Saudi channel, the most recent of which was the hosting of a joint partner roadshow, with processor vendor AMD, which visited select locations in the Kingdom including Riyadh and Jeddah.
