Web security provider, ScanSafe has taken its first step into the Middle East market by naming FVC as its distributor across the region. In its new role as value-added distribution partner, FVC will target ScanSafe's Security-as-a-Service products at SMEs and enterprise customers. The move will help existing customers including Investcorp and the Kuwait Investment Office.

Eldar Tuvey, chief executive officer at ScanSafe, says the partnership will strengthen ScanSafe's position through FVC's expertise and resources, including pre- and post-sales support as well as training services. "We are very excited to partner with FVC, one of the leading security distributors in the Middle East," said Tuvey. "This partnership extends the reach of our services to this fast growing region and enables local enterprises to benefit from the technology and economic advantages of the Security-as-a-Service model."

FVC says that its Security-as-a-Service solution - which includes Web Malware Scanning, Web filtering and IM control - is relatively new in the region. "This agreement will enhance our existing range of enterprise-oriented security products and solutions," said KS Parag, regional director at FVC. "With this addition, our partners can now meet their customers' challenge of coping with increasing complex and rapidly expanding malicious web threats."

ScanSafe's products are the newest addition to FVC's portfolio which also includes brands such as Polycom, Proxim and VBrick in its portfolio. FVC has offices in many countries across the Middle East and Africa such as Egypt, Kuwait, Lebanon, Morocco, Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
