In a move designed to increase its coverage of the Saudi market, mobile wireless provider Trapeze Networks has signed up Gulf Gaihib International as its new distributor in the Kingdom. The deal sees GGI named as Trapeze's official value-added distributor and authorises the company to offer the full range of Trapeze Networks products and solutions, most of which will be available through all GGI websites.

"Trapeze Networks considers Saudi a key market in our expansion programme in the region," professed Feras Zeidan, Trapeze's regional manager "Our partnership with GGI will help us bolster our presence in the Kingdom and sustain the momentum we have gained in the Gulf market. GGI has extensive reach in Saudi's large cities and remote areas, which will be crucial in helping Trapeze realize our expansion objectives," he added.

The alliance is part of Trapeze Network's increased effort to expand its business in the Middle East to augment larger operations in Europe, Japan, and the Asia-Pacific region. It also comes after the vendor recently joined the Green Packet Networks partnership programme along with Etisalcom and Saudi pairing NESMA and Semanoor.

GGI is a Saudi-based company founded in 1998 that specialises in providing wireless network solutions such as corporate WLAN services and personal broadband. Business manager of IT and Communication at GGI, Hani Bitar, feels that the partnership has arrived at the perfect time to "capitalise on promising market conditions as Saudi Arabia is currently witnessing some of the fastest growing internet penetration rates in the Middle East."

He explains that, thanks to a KSA government goal to ensure all networks offer wireless connectivity, GGI has seen an increased desire for its wireless services. "As a result we are very happy to partner with Trapeze at this opportune time and provide our customers with Trapeze's superior offerings."
