Popular tailorable internet music service Pandora is no longer available to users in this region.

The change, which will disappoint online lovers of English-language music, is explained in the company's site statement, which reads: "We are deeply, deeply sorry to say that due to licensing constraints, we can no longer allow access to Pandora for most listeners located outside of the U.S. We will continue to work diligently to realize the vision of a truly global Pandora, but for the time being we are required to restrict its use. We are very sad to have to do this, but there is no other alternative."

As such, users logging onto Pandora.com from outside the US are now unable to access the site's music pages, due to their computers' IP addresses being identified and thus linking them to their respective countries of origin.

The site - long since championed by Windows Middle East magazine - allows now US-only users to enjoy a vast range of tunes stemming hundreds of individual genres, all through a music player built-into the site. Users are able to search for tracks by particular artists, and the site will also then play them songs by similar-sounding artists. The site was derived from the work of the Music Genome Project.
