Cisco distributor Comstor has appointed Jayagiri Nair as its new channel technical consultant.

Nair is a networking operation management specialist and previously worked at Showtime, the largest pay-TV network in Middle East, as a senior network engineer.

Nair's responsibilities will include overseeing local partner education, pre-sales support and technical consultancy through the One Voice and OneDefence programmes. He is a multi-vendor certified professional with over 10 years' experience in the design, implementing and maintenance of enterprise network solutions and security infrastructure, as well as expertise with IP routing, switching and security.

Steve Lockie, managing director at Comstor, said he believes Nair is a positive addition to the 30 strong EME consulting team which specialises in advanced technology solutions and security infrastructure. "Jay brings a wealth of experience to the team and we are especially pleased to have his strong technology and training background onboard," he said.

"He has already conducted unified communications training to our Qatar resellers and will be providing the same in Kuwait later this month. He is engaged with several resellers in project support and is proving to be a key asset in supporting our reseller ‘recruit and enable' activities," he added.

The announcement of Nair's appointment reflects Comstor's continued proliferation as Cisco's distributor since the pair began working together in the Middle East late last year.
