Acquisitive Jordanian IT consultancy Optimiza has strengthened its position in the Saudi market by snapping up Gulf Electronics for Technical Solutions (G-Tech) for an undisclosed fee.

G-Tech specialises in delivering Dell-focused hardware solutions and support services to a distinctive list of clients throughout the Kingdom.

The move reinforces Optimiza's position in the Saudi market following the previous acquisition of consulting firm Aregon, which operates a local branch office. As well as distributing Dell products, G-Tech supplies audiovisual equipment from Germany-based vendor Geha.

The company has offices in Riyadh and Jeddah, serving a number of financial, manufacturing, government and education customers.

"We are committed to building a strong local presence in the Saudi market in order to best serve our clients in Jeddah, Riyadh and Dammam and all areas of the Saudi Kingdom in the field of IT," stated Hazem Malhas, CEO at Optimiza.

Publicly-listed Optimiza, which has a paid-up capital of US$35m, employs more than 350 professionals across the Gulf region and parts of North Africa.
