Regular visitors to itp.net won't have failed to notice that we are in the process of compiling what we hope will be the definitive list of power players in the Middle East IT market - the itp.net Top 100.

We are currently accepting nominations for the list, from IT vendors, systems integrators, and telcos and service providers, to enable us to compile the list and announce our selection of the best companies in nine different categories, and an overall Top 10 of Middle East IT companies, at the end of November.

But why does the Top 100 stand out from any of the other power lists or annual awards created in the region?

We believe that the Top 100 doesn't just go one better than other lists, but that it will offer a whole lot more than similar offerings. The Top 100 doesn't look at individual talent or projects, but the presence and professionalism of the company as a whole in the Middle East.

The Top 100 also aims to compile information on companies in a transparent way. We think that the best way to get an understanding of a potential partner company is to be able to see what they have to say about themselves. That's why we are allowing companies to provide as much data about themselves as they like, and then sharing it, for free, on itp.net.

We also understand that itp.net has a unique resource in the news and analysis that is offered by the ITP team of IT journalists. By combining what companies have to say about themselves, along with news and commentary on the company and sector, and our assessment of the sector leaders, we can create the definitive, interactive online directory of all of the IT companies that matter in the region. Our Top 100 will not just be a one-off list that's read and then forgotten, the data compiled will be permanently available to anyone visiting the site, and will be closely integrated with the search functions of itp.net. If someone wants to know about an IT company in the region, they will be able to find a very wide range of information at itp.net.

But of course, you've got to be in it to win it, and if your company doesn't register for the list now, its going to be a long 12 months of looking at your competitor's profiles where your company data should be. So please, check out www.itp.net/top100 and if your company isn't there, speak to your marketing manager about putting in a nomination today.
