Document imaging vendor Kyocera Mita has shared its channel plans with partners from around the region after holding a Middle East and Africa sales and marketing conference in Dubai.

The two-day rally, which took place earlier this month, saw representatives from 21 companies taking part. Key officials from the vendor's Japanese operation also made an appearance, with president Katsumi Komaguchi and international sales chief Sho Taniguchi joining Middle East and Africa boss Takuya Marubayashi in reinforcing the local strategy.

Kyocera used the annual conference to share information about new products and solutions, and ran a number of workshops and breakout sessions designed to help partners share information and ideas.

With the region's huge potential presenting strong opportunities for the printing channel, Middle East boss Marubayashi insists the company is committed to strengthening its local activities by attending more user seminars and organising sales and marketing training sessions for resellers.

"We are happy to be able to conclude that this event has achieved its purpose," he added. "It has enabled us to align our vectors and establish a common understanding between us and our business partners. We believe that this conference has created the ideal environment for a healthy growth of our and our partners' business in Africa and the Middle East."

Kyocera Mita employs more than 12,000 people across the globe and works through 16 sales organisations in the EMEA region. The company, which raked in sales of US$2.5 billion last year, boasts a wide portfolio of printers, multifunctional systems and wide format devices.
