Ten HP partners from around the Middle East region have been honoured for their efforts during the past year following the vendor's recent annual awards ceremony in Dubai.

More than 300 partners from across the region attended the bash, which saw appearances from HP's senior Middle East management team as well as Satjiv Chahil, the worldwide marketing chief of the vendor's Personal Systems Group.

HP's newly-appointed managing director, John Hoonhout, and divisional heads Amr Hassan, Serdar Urcar and Salim Ziade all presented awards to the winners, who spanned a number of categories.

Regional volume wholesaler Redington Gulf, which has worked with HP since its inception, scooped the ‘best distributor of the year' award, while rival Almasa picked up an accolade for its achievements in the supplies market.

UAE-based Alpha Data Processing Services was named HP's ‘reseller of the year', with Jeraisy, Advanced Computer Technology and the Abu Dhabi arm of Midware Data Systems winning the country equivalents for Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Levant, and the Gulf respectively.

Jordan-based Integrated Standard Solutions netted the gong for ‘best supplies reseller of the year' while the three retail awards went to CompuMe in Egypt, Carrefour in the UAE and Jarir Bookstore in Saudi Arabia.

"The HP Channel Awards is an exciting time for us, as we join our partners to celebrate our collaborative success and partnership over the past 12 months," said Salim Ziade, SPO manager at HP Middle East. "HP has an excellent partner network across the Middle East, which we will continue to support and work together to make next year even better."
