RSA has announced that it is aiming to double its number of partners in the Middle East by mid-2008.

According to Miles Rippon, EMEA channels director, the Middle East already contains 34 RSA partners and the company intends to increase that number based on its growth in the region. "2006 was a landmark year for RSA's channel business in the Middle East, with 29% growth in the number of our regional partners, 105% revenue growth and hundreds of regional customers upgraded," he says.

The vendor, which is the security division of EMC, is also making changes to its partner programme to fuel its channel growth. The expanded partner programme is one of the first card-based schemes in the security industry, whereby businesses in the region can now apply for both company and individual Visa debit cards to receive rewards.
