Members of Double-Take Software's European team are expecting to return home with a suitcase full of leads after enjoying a hectic GITEX Technology Week in hall 2.

The company already boasts an impressive list of clients in the Middle East, including Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, Aramco and PWC Logistics, but remains focused on ramping up the number of partners it works with in the region.

Double-Take currently works with fewer than 10 partners in the Middle East, but is keen to swell that number in a bid to develop its brand in markets where it has a limited presence.

"Our main aim has been to find new resellers, hosting companies and system integrators in zones where we are weak, such as Saudi Arabia," explains Olivier Cohen, sales director for Europe at US-based Double-Take.

"Although we work on a remote basis, we have a team in France dedicated to the Middle East and they are coming to the region every 15 days to support partners and enlarge our business."

This is Double-Take's first appearance at GITEX since it acquired Sunbelt Software, which was its distribution partner for large parts of EMEA.

The company's software pulls together key components such as availability, data protection and disaster recovery into one solution, which Double-Take claims provides customers with better reliability and total cost of ownership. "The idea is to make high availability and disaster recovery possible on more machines," says Cohen.
