Redington Gulf strengthens regional foothold at GITEX

Redington Gulf has good news to announce at GITEX 2007. The company, which experienced a growth of more than 29% in the first quarter of this year, will be expanding its portfolio of vendors after the show.

"I can confirm that we have had positive talks with at least three vendors at GITEX, and this should culminate in signed deals within the next couple of months," says Raj Shankar, deputy managing director of Redington Group. "In just the last three months, we have signed up APC, Kingston and Trend Micro. We serve both the Middle East and African IT markets extensively."

The company represents about 22 different vendors currently. In Redington's Hall 3 stand, visitors can see office solutions from manufacturers like HP, Western Digital (WD), Intel and so on.

Western Digital (WD) Corporation's new external hard drive range is especially highlighted at the stand as are HP's printers.

WD's new MyBook Pro storage appliances allow users to add massive backup storage for their business files, music, videos, photos and games. The new storage system provides users a safe place to secure as much as 1.5 terabytes of digital content. The MyBook Pro Edition II uses RAID technology to instantaneously duplicate user data for extra protection or to accelerate the delivery of data to users.

"These manufacturers have signed up with us because an agreement with Redington gives them access to a company with 450 people, 18 end points, and access to someone who provides service locally to customers," explains Shankar. "Very few companies can provide this kind of reach and service."

Redington looks at GITEX as an important platform to show its clients the entire portfolio of brands it represents. "This is the kind of place where you get to display your entire bouquet of offerings to your clients, while also understanding their future requirements and trying to cater to them," explains Shankar.

At the show, Redington also announced that it is now seeking to expand into the telecoms market.
