Network specialist Extreme Networks, along with communications provider Avaya, has announced an easy purchase and fast deployment offer for small and medium businesses (SMBs) at GITEX Technology Week. The bundle is based on Avaya's IP Office and Extreme's Summit LAN switches and will be distributed by APTEC.

"SMBs are largely left out of the game when it comes to VoIP solutions due largely to cost. This partnership allows us to jointly offer intelligent communication solutions and a resilient networking infrastructure to SMBs in the region, who can also enjoy a faster return on investment," says Chris Moore, regional director for Middle East and Africa at Extreme.

The bundled solution is targeted at the retail, healthcare, finance, insurance and real estate sectors. According to Moore, while the companies will start distributing their bundle in the UAE, they will work to address more Gulf countries soon.

Extreme has also launched at GITEX two security offerings, the upgraded Sentriant Access Guard and the new Extreme Networks Policy Management tool (EPM).

The company is displaying at its stand the latest enterprise and service provider solutions for end-users and partners. This includes Taming Chaos solutions and carrier Ethernet products.
