Reichle & De-Massari (R&M) has launched its first overseas training academy in the Middle East region at GITEX Technology Week. The launch comes shortly after the company doubled the size of its regional headquarters in Dubai.

"This is the first R&M academy outside of Switzerland. The academy will provide training for installers, sales people, partners, designers, planners, consultants and even end-users giving them an in depth insight into fibre and copper cabling solutions, installation requirements and design rules," says Eugene Botes, RCDD/NTS, technical director for MEA and India.

According to him, the academy will provide training across three tiers covering basic, intermediate and high-end needs and will start by addressing the company's partners in the region. Training courses will be based on ANSI, TIA, EIA, ISO, IEC, CENELEC and the IEEE standards.

R&M is participating for the eighth consecutive year at GITEX through its partners Verger et Delporte and Emirates Computers. The company's stand is showcasing a range of its products from the latest structured cabling solutions for enterprise networks and datacenters, to security systems such as Patch Guard and carrier cabling solutions as well as 10Gbit Ethernet solutions.
