Tracking experts Global Track Global Supply Chain Services will be looking to target the local delivery market this year in a bid to offer clients increased service levels.

Managing director Pieter Smits said the company had a range of devices to track vehicles, water craft and airplanes.

"We are launching a full satellite tracking product, the GT340, and a combination [satellite and cellular] product called Surelinx," he said.

"What [Surelinx] does is provide you with cellular tracking - which is cheaper - when it is available, and then when you are outside cellular coverage it reverts to satellite, so you get the best of both worlds."

The company also had a cellular based product, the GT900, on display, Smits added.

"This year we will be focusing more on the delivery applications for small vehicles," he said.

"We can put in tracking points on delivery routes, so that customers will receive an SMS telling them their delivery is five minutes away."
