Dubai-based Superior Technologies will be promoting new products from Leoni Kerpen at this year's GITEX, with the company gearing up to deliver high-end cabling solutions.

Business development manager Mohammed Iqbal Moosa said the company had already delivered a Cat-6a system to Etihad Airways, with many clients across the Middle East favouring higher bandwidth.

"We see a big potential from the Cat-6a and Cat-7 solutions," he explained.

"In the Middle East, clients are moving towards the higher speed solutions - it's the place where the most advanced technologies are used. Most of the installations here are Cat-6a or Cat-7, whereas in other areas they are still using Cat-5e for many installations."

Moosa predicted there would be "considerable growth" in these installations in the next three to four years, and with Kerpen delivering systems capable of up to 1200MHz, Superior Technologies were in a market leading position, he added.

The company had recently expanded its team to cover the entire Middle East region, and would soon be looking to expand into Africa through a partnership deal later this year, Moosa said.

Superior Technologies will also be exhibiting products from connections manufacturers SMP Data Communications, transport systems manufacturers Preformed Line Products, Italian cabinet enclosures suppliers Tecnosteel and Leoni Fibreoptics.
