Dubai-based Headstart is marking its second appearance at GITEX Technology Week by touting a range of software solutions, including its Canadian-developed Maitre'D software suite, aimed at the region's growing hospitality industry.

"Our Maitre'D solution is used by many firms around the globe and our goal is to meet with key customers in the hospitality industry in the Middle East and communicate how this solution can transform their business," says Mohammed Mudassar Afsar, Headstart's business development manager.

Maitre'D is a customisable solution, consisting of a series of software packages and integrated applications that can be personalised to suit specific restaurant management needs.

According to Headstart - the sole distributor for the suite in the Middle East - Maitre'D PoS (Point-of-Sale) provides each terminal with multiple functionality, including table service and floor management, delivery and dispatch, and integration with web ordering systems.

Maitre'D DataBoard, the second part of the solution, is a web-based monitoring tool that allows managers to access crucial information on their sales or costs via the web. It also provides an alert function that sends customisable alerts in real-time.

Meanwhile, the Back-Office module provides sales reporting, inventory and labour management functionality.

Headstart reckons the integration between the PoS system and the Back-Office unit provides optimisation of information analysis and offers cost-savings.

Apart from Maitre'D, Headstart is also showcasing its ResPak software solution, which is a restaurant reservation and table management module. As its name suggests, ResPak's restaurant reservation module accepts restaurant reservations for various meals periods within separate dining areas.

The program displays the area capacity, number of current reservations, reservation status and also monitors patrons placed on the restaurant waiting list.

ResPak also boasts an internet reservation module, which enables reservations to be accepted via the web. Apart from making reservations via the web, clients can also modify their reservations and view their own reservation history, provided they have management approval.

The table management module allows the restaurant manager to create a graphic representation of the restaurant. The display can also be designed for various trading days and meal periods and can further illustrate different aspects such as the location of the kitchen or the bar.

At GITEX Technology Week, Headstart is partnering with Al-Futtaim Technologies - its Middle East reseller for the event.
