IRIS (Integrated Recognition Image Systems) Group has unveiled the fourth version of its flagship business card scanner products, IRISCard Pro, at GITEX 2007.

A total of four scanners have been revealed by IRIS, all of which are updated with new features and design. These products include the ISCard Pro mini 4, IRISCard Pro 4, IRISCard Pro 4 Corporate and IRISCard Pro 4 Corporate for Microsoft Dynamics CRM.

"Not only has the software recognition of business cards been enhanced and empowered with speed and accuracy but also the design of the product and its packaging have been reviewed to meet the needs of modern users," says Mohamed Berrihi, channel sales account manager Middle East and Africa, IRIS.

"In addition, IRIS is also launching its new range of Pen Scanners. IRISPen 6 features an enhanced OCR engine. Retyping text from paper documents is often very necessary but very tedious and time consuming. The IRISPen digitises information contained in paper documents in the blink of an eye," claims Berrihi.

IRIS is showing the Arabic OCR Software, Readiris Pro 11 Middle East - the result of growing demand for digital versions of Arabic documents.

The IRIS Group has also recently announced the worldwide availability of IRISPdf Server 6.0, a compression and production OCR server that features IHQC (Intelligent High Quality Compression) technology. Marketed as a revolutionary industry technology, IHQC can create highly compressed and fully searchable PDF files in colour and with a smaller file size than compressed black and white images.

Attending GITEX for the third time, the company positions itself both at the Belgian booth and through regional partners' stands.

IRIS currently has several partnerships with various channel/corporate partners -a fact it believes will help enhance visibility and education of end users.

Placing a focus on recruiting new channel partners, such as resellers, corporate resellers, corporate procurement and online resellers, IRIS hopes to capture a share of the corporate market that many of its digital products are designed to cater towards.

"The Middle East attracts the most dynamic technology worldwide. Never has expenditure on technology by corporations, governments and individuals reached such a high level. Thus, IRIS is investing heavily in developing products that support Arabic to address the needs of both individuals and corporates," explains Berrihi.

"In that sense, GITEX is the best opportunity to showcase these products and to gather feedback from our partners and end-users in order to integrate their needs in future products and increase satisfaction of regional customers with IRIS products," he adds.
