Intel is injecting some excitement into the DIC Community Zone at GITEX, with a daily video gaming competition. The competition will take place in the gaming zone of the DIC stand, with daily prizes on offer for top gamers.

Intel will be sponsoring the gaming zone for the second year running, to highlight the power of its quad-core processors for running the latest generation of PC games. Among the prizes on offer will be five Intel Centrino Duo Processor laptops.

"Leaders of the pack seeking monster performance will not look any further. With four execution cores in a single processor, the Intel Core 2 Extreme QX6850 quad-core processor blows through processor-intensive tasks in demanding multitasking environments and lets you enjoy the best gaming experience," said Samir Al Schamma, Intel general manager, GCC. "Join us at DIC community Zone, have fun and show your fellow gamers if you are up to it!"

"Intel have sold over one million quad core processors since November of last year. Desktop PCs and servers powered by Intel quad-core processors are showcased by international and local PC manufacturers all over GITEX." added Al-Schamma.
