Networking giant Cisco is to deploy an advanced networking infrastructure based on IP technology at the Dhabab Towers Business Park in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Under the agreement, the vendor will provide an entire suite of solutions plus technical support and advisory services to the Public Pension Agency (PPA), which is handling the development of the project.

The contract with the PPA, the value of which has not been disclosed, is Cisco's first major win in Saudi Arabia under its new Real Estate and Construction division.

"Through the adoption of a converged IP network, the Public Pension Agency will achieve a secure, intelligent and scalable network which will help reduce operational costs and increase productivity," commented Cisco's managing director for Saudi Arabia Dr Badr Al Badr.

The Cisco solution will be deployed across the eight commercial and residential buildings that make up business park.
