Ten days left to talk tech

The deadline is fast approaching for the region's technology buyers to have their say on the best products and vendor support out there, by voting in this year's new and improved Windows Middle East Reader Awards.

That's right, you've got just ten days to tell us which products really deserve to be handed one of our coveted Windows gongs, and which companies meet the needs of you, the end users, the best.

Whereas last year's number of awards reached the high twenties, this time around we've simplified matters a little, choosing just twenty standard categories and our top award, the Windows Editor's Choice Product of the Year.

And of these twenty one categories, we've opened up almost half (nine in total) to the reader vote. In choosing these - and they range from product prizes to product support prizes and ‘Innovation of the Year' - we've opted for topics that we feel a great many users will have views on.

Video games for instance are something tons of Windows readers shell out their cash on pretty regularly, so we figured that you would all have some valuable thoughts on which 2007 releases were worth owning. Conversely, we didn't ask you to rate the best laser printer of the year, as these are generally used only by businesses and therefore bought usually, and occasionally, by IT managers.

As you might expect from the team behind a magazine that gives you the chance to win cracking kit each and every month, for every one of you that gets involved we're handing you the opportunity to bag a bunch of seriously tasty product prizes. These include: Sandisk's Sansa Express MP3 player, gaming specialist Razer's gaming product bundle, networking firm Linksys' digital home focused Kiss 1600 Network Media Centre, and Samsung's 3-in-1 and super speedy home office laser printer.

So what are you waiting for? You're just a few clicks away from being involved in a truly democratic, techie-friendly process! Rev up your browser, and point it to www.itp.net/windowsawards/. Best of luck!
