Acer offers customers free servicing

Notebook vendor to run three-day care camp through channel partners.

Notebook vendor Acer is launching a new customer service initiative as part of an ongoing effort to strengthen its position in the Middle East market.

Starting mid-August, the firm is running a three-day special service programme, called the Acer Care Camp, through which it will offer customers free servicing and maintenance for their computers.

The camp takes place in the showrooms and outlets of Acer's major channel partners, which include Jumbo Electronics and Redington Distribution.

"With customer service taking precedence in today's competitive IT market, Acer's service programme is a realisation of our long-term commitment to empowering customers," said Bernard Lobo, service account manager, customer service division at Acer Middle East.

"We want to offer something extraordinary and the ‘Acer Care Camp' is just that, an opportunity to provide a value-added service to all our users," he added.

Acer was recently judged one of the best companies in the region for post-sales support, according to a recent investigation by Windows Middle East magazine (August edition).

The vendor has said it believes its efforts in providing high quality customer service will enable it to hold on to its leadership in the Middle East market. Acer holds the number two and three spots in the Middle East notebook and PC markets respectively.

In reference to Mr. Tariq Malik's concerns dated 31st August 2007, I would like to clarify that this camp was held in UAE only and not in the the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Our customers are informed through the newspapers, press releases and Radio FM. I am sure whenever we have this camp in KSA you will be able to avail this unique service facility for all our valued customers that are no more in warranty.

Although I am an old Acer Product user and currently own an Acer Notebook with Acer Plus Extended Warranty program, and also dealt wit Redington through their presence in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. 
 
But as an Acer Customer, we did note receive any information related to Acer Camp through Acer, or Redington. It was a total coincidence that I have read the News in ITP. 
I wonder how Acer was selected as best Company for "post-sales support" by Windows Middle East Magazine While Acer Customers are kept out of the Picture. 
 
This also put the authenticity of Windows Middle East Magazine under a question Mark.
