BenQ is rolling out a new channel programme for partners in Saudi Arabia in an effort to increase market penetration for its monitors and cameras in the Kingdom.

The programme will be the first nationwide scheme under new country sales manager Parvez Siddiqui, and will be replicated in Egypt and the UAE over the coming months.

The vendor has divided resellers into three classifications dubbed A, B and C. A-category partners consist of regular, large quantity purchasers while category B represents regular but small quantity buyers. BenQ's new partners fall under the C tier. "For our A-category partners we have given them bigger targets and if they achieve 100% sales, we're giving them a cash reward," explained Manish Bakshi, general manager at BenQ Middle East and Africa. "We are doing the same thing for category B and C partners, but the targets we are giving them are lower. Also if any of our partners achieve more than 100% they will receive much bigger payouts."

Bakshi also revealed the vendor has identified 10 top showrooms in Saudi where back-end rebates will be given directly to merchandisers per product they sell. He disclosed that BenQ is giving more dollar rebates on 20-inch, 22-inch and 24-inch monitors and the seven-megapixel and higher cameras, compared to smaller size monitors and lesser-spec cameras.

The vendor hopes the programme will allow it to clinch the number two spot and number five position in the Kingdom's LCD monitor and camera markets respectively.
